Grading, Quiz, Exam information - Describes how this course will be graded, gives the dates of the 5 exams, provides information about in-class iClicker points, and defines "borderline" grades.
Images - links to all of the figures/images from the textbook, The Immune System. Click on the Chapter and then click on the desired figure/image within that chapter. You can print any of these images should you desire to bring the printed copies to class for use during class discussions. Many of these image links are also included in the Discussion Topic Outlines (see below), and will be projected on the screen in the front of the classroom and used to elaborate on a particular topic.
Videos
- link to a list of QuickTime videos that summarize (and add to, in some cases)
topics discussed in class. You will need to use a computer with QuickTime and
audio.
Discussion Topic Outlines as projected on the screen in class (listed below) - Provides the topics, suggested readings, and textbook figures that will be will be projected onto the screen in class and used to guide our class discussions. Modifications in the topics will be made to reflect any spontaneous class discussions and any additional relevant current events included in class discussions. You are welcome to print the outlines, bring them to class to use during our in-class discussions, and add your own notes during the class discussion. Each "Part" listed below will be linked as we near the beginning of that topic.

Exams - Links to three exams and the final exam that were given in Winter, 2006-2007. Exam 1, Exam 2, Exam 3, Exam 4, Exam 5. The course organization, topics covered, and the order in which these topics will be discussed in this year's course will likely differ somewhat from these earlier exams. So, you should not consider those earlier exams as indicative of exactly what will be covered in each exam in this year's course. However, you can at least see how the exam questions are worded, the type of detail you might be expected to know, etc
Hotline - This section will contain comments, updates, corrections, etc. that might be important to provide between the times we meet in class. It will also give you any specific instructions related to material that may be covered on an extra credit quiz, exam or the final exam that was not specifically discussed in-depth in the class.
News
and Stories - Will bring to your attention any recent
newspaper or magazine articles that directly relate to topics we are discussing
in class. It is amazing how much of what we cover in the academic setting has
immediate applications in "real life". Check some of these articles out to see
how relevant an understanding of Immunology is to your careers and everyday life.
Questions/Answers - Will
provide answers to questions asked in class for which I did not have sufficient
time to discuss in class and/or for which I did not have enough knowledge to give
a good answer at the time. Each question will be listed (with the class date)
and a brief answer provided. I may also add some relevant websites and/or suggest
additional reading materials that will cover the question in much more depth.
Websites - This is a comprehensive collection of websites that are relevant to this course. I will add new sites as I come across them. Some of these websites may also appear in discussion notes and the hotline when they specifically apply to the topics at hand.
