About me:
My name is Alejandro Fragoso and many of you are probably wondering how a white guy like me got the name. I inherited this name from my father, who emigrated from Mexico as a child. My mother on the hand is of French Canadian descent and was born in Massachusetts. The two met in Tucson and that’s where I come in.
I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and moved from there after grammar school. Since then I have lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York (in that order). One thing that remained a constant was my love for anything technology. Growing up, I was always drawn to technology and video games. Technology soon became a large part of my life as I got my first Game Boy and the attraction blossomed from there. I played video games like an addict and could sit in front of a computer for hours on end, learning how to use a multitude of software with no manual and little direction.
My other obsession lies on the screen. My high school job was at the local movie theater, and the free movies that came with it led to my vice. If I have free time and am not gaming, then I can probably be found watching movies. I typically watch fiction or comedy but am not at all close minded about other genres. (Fun fact: My record is 15 movies in a week.)
On top of that, I am an archer with six years of training. I received my lessons in Manchester, Connecticut’s Hall’s Arrow Archery Range, which has trained numerous Olympic archers. I shoot with a recurve bow at an average distance of 18 meters and do it mainly for recreation, but have shot competitively.
As much I enjoy all of these things, I generally don’t have the free time to do them as much as I used to prior to college. As of now (March, 2011), I am a second year Information Technology student at RIT with my concentration being in Web and Database. This will be my portal to all work related to my Web Design and Implementation course (4002.409.01).
