Andres Carrano joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at RIT in 2000. He is the founding Director of the Toyota Production Systems Lab, and the current Vice-President of the College-Industry Council on Material Handling Education (MHI-CICMHE). His work has been funded primarily by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Toyota Foundation USA, the Material Handling Industry (MHI), the National Science Foundation (NSF), Toyota Motors (TEMA), and the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA). |

Andres has held faculty appointments at universities in Japan, Turkey, USA and Venezuela. He is the recipient of the IIE Curriculum Innovations Award (2009), the IIE Excellence in Teaching of Lean Concepts Award (2010) and the EPA P3 Award (2005). He is a senior member of both SME and IIE, a regular member of ASEE, and co-advises the Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) student chapter at RIT. |
