About Me
My full name is Andrew Leland Philip Knight, but you can call me
AndyLPK for short. I'm a Computer Science BS/MS student at
Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.
I've been in college for three full years now, but because I earned
so much credit from AP exams, I have sixth year status. So far,
I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. I will graduate from RIT in
2010 with a master's degree in CS, as well as minors in
Mathematics and Creative Writing.
In addition to my program of study, I have worked for IBM on
repeated cooperative education assignments at Research Triangle
Park, North Carolina. My team's product was Rational Business
Developer: an Eclipse-based workbench for EGL, or Enterprise
Generation Language. I served as both a tester and a developer.
Some of my most passionate work on campus,
other than my computer projects,
is tutoring. I help students with their math and physics problems
in the Math Lab, along with leading study groups on a weekly
basis. I love helping others, especially when I see that gleam
in their eye that tells me they understand the material.
Believe it or not, occasionally I do have free time, too! You
can typically find me jamming Guitar Hero, listening to classic
rock, solving sudoku puzzles, or just hanging loose. I love to
cook, and when I feel inspired, I take pen to paper and write
short stories and poetry. I am also
a proud Eagle Scout. In between
quarters, I return to Maryland for a week to spend time with my
loving parents.
My Christianity is a guiding force in my life, and I am not
afraid to share it, because I am blessed.
I love God and I love others.
1 John 4:7-21. Ask me about it sometime.
