Avon Lake is on the south shore of Lake Erie approx 20 miles (32 KM) from Cleveland, OH. While it is primarily a bedroom community there is an industrial section with businesses ranging from light industry to Ford's Ohio Truck Plant that the Econoline Vans call home. I can't forget the power plant that is part of the First Energy conglomerate. While this plant was not part of it, First Energy caught the blame for the big blackout on 14 August 2003. The homes in Avon Lake range from summer cottages that have expanded to year round houses to those that are multi million dollar palaces on the lake. There are many in between. One house is said to have been part of the "Underground Railroad".
