Cartridges, Canisters and Cassettes
Colorful Containers for Film

Our January topic is Cartridges, Canisters and Cassettes...colorful containers for film! Any size, any brand. Advertising pieces are welcome, too. Bring your unusual examples or a photo of your collection. Show, tell or both.

7:30 p.m. at St. John's Meadows,
1 Johnsarbor Drive W., off Elmwood Ave., west of Clinton Ave. Turn south in the drive; take the first right and then the first left.
Prior to the topic a new slate of officers will be elected.

UPCOMING MEETINGS:

SWAP MEET: February
Come to Brighton Town Hall (2300 Elmwood Ave.) on Thursday Feb. 16. Bring those treasures you no longer need. We'll have tables set up and you can see items before they come to the symposium trade show. Sellers set-up is 5:30. Members only admitted at 6 p.m., and the public from 7-9 p.m. Please let us know if you plan to sell items, so that we can plan the space accordingly.

The Grand Man of GRAFLEX: March
Long-time TPHS member Theron (Tim) Holden will speak on March 16 about the history of Graflex. Known to many as "Mr. Graflex" Tim worked there for many years and has more knowledge of the company and its products than anyone. He'll show slides of the company's operations from the days when they produced the Graphics, for decades the standard-issue camera for press photographers worldwide. Bring your own Graflex cameras to show and tell.

NOTE: This will be our first meeting to be held in the upstairs community room at Barnes & Noble in Pittsford. The address is 3349 Monroe Ave. in Pittsford Plaza, east of Wegmans. (For us old-timers, it's the former B. Forman Co. building)

The May 18, Sept. 21 and Nov. 16 meetings will be held at Barnes & Noble in Pittsford Plaza. This is a new venue for us and should worlk out very well.

April 20 will be our annual dinner meeting. Our scheduled speaker, the esteemed Frank Mehlenbacher, will introduce us to his wonderful collection. Whether your interest centers on history or hardware, this is a not-to-be-missed event. Further details to be announced.

PhotoHistory XIII

Save the dates of October 20 thru 22, 2006 for PhotoHistory XIII, the 13th of TPHS's triennial symposiums and trade shows. The world-renowned event will be held at George Eastman House on East Avenue in Rochester and the DoubleTree Inn in Henrietta. First held in 1970, PhotoHistory attracts people from around the world who come to learn, meet fellow historians and collectors, and buy & sell.
