Barnes & Noble Books at 3349 Monroe Ave, Pittsford

1/30 Second Over Tokyo

Don McDill, a Navy aerial photographer in World War II, will speak about his experiences creating photographs while over enemy territory. (He helped map the planned invasion of Japan.)

Don will show slides and have his old flight logs for us to browse. After his Navy service he spent 31 years working in photo-illustration for Kodak. Bring your aerial cameras or any photo related war items with you!

We'll meet in the upstairs community room at Barnes & Noble Books, 3349 Monroe Ave. in Pittsford Plaza, east of Wegmans (for you old-timers, it's the former B. Forman store) Call 585-288-6359 for information.

NOVEMBER (date TBA):  DROP IN ANYTIME !

Martin Scott and Mike Champlin are leading the November meeting, which focuses on Drop-in cartridges, particularly 126 cameras. Bring cameras, advertising, Kodak workers who worked on these cameras, and see the 1963 Buster Keaton film, The Triumph of Lester Snapwell, a Kodak promotional film announcing the then-new Kodapak Film cartridges and Instamatic Camera.

NOTE: This meeting won't be limited to Kodak or even to 126 cartridge cameras. Any drop-in film designs are welcome.
