Vacuum cleaner

Affordances:

• Cleaning floor, furniture and different stuff
• Height adjustments for handles can be used to clean different surfaces
• Comes with different types of brushes for different surfaces like upholstery/dusting brush, and crevice tool/extension wand for hard-to-reach areas 20-foot power cord

Visibility of system status:

• There is a on/off button which when switched on, theLED indicator glows showing that the vaccum in on.
• Also , when you switch the vaccum on, it makes lot of noise while sucking air inside.
• When the dust bag is full, there is no system status indication for it

User control and freedom:

• The on/off switch is always available handy for the user to switch the vaccum cleaner off on any kind of emergency

Power of Constraints:

• The power of constraints is wisely used while designing brushes for different purposes like harsh brushes for hard surfaces, soft brushes for cleaning pets and delicate devices and more different types of brushes for cleaning carpets and sofas
• These brushes are designed such that they fit the cord in only one possible way which is easy to determine making changing of brushes easy for the end user

User’s Mental Model:

• The action which the users perform while manually mopping or sweeping a floor is imitated well in this design and the user can use the same style with this product too

Match between system and the real world:

• The dust bag is designed to match the real world and can be placed into the vaccum cleaner in the same way as you place a dust bag in the regular dust bin

Flexibility and efficiency of use:

• The long cord for conneting the vaccum cleaner to the switch provided the ease of moving it to cover a large area without having to change the plug from one switch to another
• The vaccum cleaner is light in weight and hence easy to move
• The dust bags are easy to replace
• Handles and cords easy to change

Aesthetic and minimalist design:

• The color scheme is not so good and the vaccum looks cheaper due its color
• Elegant colors can make it look like a branded Eureka Vaccum cleaner

Design Critique:

• The vaccum cleaner makes a loud noise when switched ON
• The color is not good
• The vaccum cleaner stops sucking in dust when dust bag is full and there is no feedback to the user to determine why it is not sucking in dust
• Easy to use
• Good for its price
