December 2011: I've been named Area Editor (effective January 2012) for the IEEE IEEE Signal Processing Magazine.
October 2011: I gave a presentation at the CTTC: Centre Tecnologic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya.
October 2011: My papers "Experience Cooperative Sharing in Cross-Layer Cognitive Radio for Real-Time Multimedia Communication", written with Wenbo Wang appears in the 4th. International Conference on Cognitive Radio and Advanced Spectrum Management (CogART 2011).
September 2011: I've been named Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications.
September 2011: I have two papers to appear in the 22nd IEEE Personal Indoor Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC'11): "A Power Efficient Pulsed MAC Protocol for Body Area Networks" (with David Layerle) and "Cooperative Learning for Reduced Complexity Cross-Layer Cognitive Radio" (with Wenbo Wang).
July 2011: The IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, where I am Associate Editor of the "In the Spotlight" column, remains as the number 1 publication in impact factor, among all electical and computer publications for second year in the row.
 
May 2011: The book "Cooperative Communications and Networking" that I've co-authored with Dr. Ahmed Sadek (Qualcomm Inc.) and Profs. Ray Liu (University of Maryland) and Weifeng Su (SUNY at Buffalo) has now an edition translated to Chinese.
May 2011: I have three papers appearing in the 2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP): "In-class Demonstrations with a Portable Laboratory for Teaching DSP to Computer Engineering Majors", "Improving the Performance of DSP Systems for MIMO Processing" (with Nathaniel Horner) and "Automatic Real-Time Electric Guitar Audio Transcription" (with Xander Fiss).
March 2011: I've been elevated to Senior Member level at the IEEE.
March 2011: My position paper on "Cooperative Multimedia Transmissions" is appearing in the March issue of the IEEE ComSoc Multimedia Technical Committee E-Letter.
March 2011: I'll be serving as the Invited Papers Co-Chair for the first International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (ICNC 2012) at Maui, Hawaii, during February 2012.
January 2011: I'm the Guest Editor for the special issue on "Cooperative Communication and Signal Processing in Cognitive Radio Systems" of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing .
December 2010: I gave a presentation at the University of Miami.
December 2010: I served in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2010 Technical Program Committee as the Workshops Co-Chair, for which I was awarded an outstanding service award.
December 2010: My paper "Lightweight Energy Prediction Filters for Solar-Powered Wireless Sensor Networks", co-authored with Cory Merkel and Dhireesha Kudithipudi is appearing in the 6th International Workshop on Unique Chips and Systems (UCAS-6).
November 2010: My paper "3D Video Communications Challenges and Opportunities", co-authored with Guan-Ming Su, Yu-Chi Lai, and Haohong Wan is appearing in the Wiley International Journal of Communication Systems.
November 2010: My paper "Feedback-based Cooperative Primary Channel Activity Estimation for Dynamic Spectrum Access", co-authored with Wenbo Wang is appearing in the 3rd International Workshop on Cognitive Radio and Advanced Spectrum Management.
September 2010: I'll be serving as the Tutorials Co-Chair for the International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN 2011) at Maui, Hawaii, during August 2012.
August 2010: My paper "Towards Integrated Circuit Thermal Profiling for Reduced Power Consumption: Evaluation of Distributed Sensing Techniques", co-authored with Dhireesha Kudithipudi is appearing in the First International Green Computing Conference.
July 2010: I am the chair of the Interest Group (IG) on Distributed and Sensor Networks for Mobile Media Computing and Applications of the IEEE Multimedia Communication Technical Committee (MMTC) for the 2010-2012 period.
May 2010: My article "Gadgets and Signal Processing: The 2010 International CES", co-authored with Gassan AlRegib is appearing in the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, "In the Spotlight" column..
April 2010: My paper "Transmission of TCP Traffic Over User Cooperative Communications in Infrastructure Networks", appeared in the 2010 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference.
