Baldev Kaur Khalsa is an Assistant Professor in NTIDs Department of American Sign Language and Interpreting Education (ASLIE), and has been at NTID/RIT since 1981. Baldev has taught sign courses to faculty & staff (FSSLEP), Masters of Science in Secondary Education (MSSE) students, and Deaf NTID students. She received both her BA (1976) in Theatre Education and her Masters in Education of the Deaf (MEd. 1977) from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) in Westminster, MD.
Prior to coming to NTID, Baldev taught elementary, junior high school and high school D/deaf students in both Kentucky and Ohio. Baldev is a RID certified (since 1977) freelance interpreter. Baldev is also a Level I certified instructor of Kundalini Yoga through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers' Association (IKYTA). She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga classes in the Rochester community and at RIT through the Department of Wellness and Recreation since 1997.
