Students in Professor Clyde Hull's May 2007 Managing Innovation and Technology class and in his Introduction to Technology Management class participated in a high-tech entrepreneurship contest for $1,400 in prize money to help their new businesses move forward. All participating teams competed on behalf of companies that were founded by RIT students, many of them in Professor Hull's class.
The winning teams and their technological products are:
Jemsico - an innovative electrical outlet solution
Goal Judge - making hockey a better game with a proprietary solution
Living Inventory - solving inventory problems for restaurants
Free Connect - a mobil communication device for the deaf (a "by the deaf for the deaf" product)
And in the Digital Entrepreneurship category:
Hometown Artists- an online music production, marketing, and distribution company for independent artistsThe Digital Entrepreneurship award was supported by a grant from the National Collegiate Inventors & Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) to the Digital Entrepreneurship group at RIT, which is pioneering the study of this new field.
