NEW MEMBER EDUCATION

New Member Education is a six-week period during which new members learn the history, purpose and function of the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. Although it may be stressful at times, education is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences you can have during college. New members will experience New Member Education with a group of woman, commonly referred to as an education class, with the guidance of a New Member Educator. There are several expectations the sisterhood has of new members during the six-week process:

+Attend weekly new member meetings.
+Attend one Sunday night chapter meeting at the end of education.
+Attend ten, one-hour pearls, two per week.
+Complete, as a class, a scrapbook, paddle, song and crest.
+Spend time with the sisters as a way of getting to know one another.
+Pay new member fees of $65, $145-210, and $50.

Sisterhood Dues
Sisterhood dues are approximately $160-$200 a quarter, and are required by all active sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon. Sisters on inactive status due to a Co-Op or Leave of Absence pasy inactive dues of $40 per quarter. Sisters who do not live in the Delta Phi Epsilon house are also required to pay a $50 parlor fee that goes toward housing projects.
Dues are used to pay fees to the International Office as well as to allow for a budget for activities within our chapter. 40% of this amount is due at the first weekly meeting. The balance can be paid in full or a payment plan can be set up with our Director of Finance.

NO HAZING

The chapter would like to emphasize to anyone considering joining our sisterhood, that we take our no hazing policy extremely seriously. Below is an excerpt from Delta Phi Epsilon's International Policy against hazing.

"No chapter or colony, undergraduate or alumna, shall conduct or participate in hazing activities. Hazing is defined as an action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off sorority premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: paddling in any form; creation of excess fatigue; physical and psychological shocks, quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips and other activities carried on outside or inside the confines of the chapter house; the forced wearing in public of apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery, morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with state, federal or local laws, sororal laws, ritual policy, or regulations and policies of the educational institution."

We believe very strongly that it is hard to maintain a strong sisterhood if members of the group are bringing down or belittling each other. Throughout your time with Delta Phi Epsilon, you will never be made to do anything that is uncomfortable or harmful to you or others.
