A Research Assistant position is currently available in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at Brown University in Providence, RI. The position is in a laboratory evaluating the regulation and consequences of immune responses to, and resistance against, viral infections. Applicants should be able to carry out experiments from specific protocols outlined by the principal investigator and be able to deviate from protocols when necessary. Individual must have an understanding of general goals for experiments and be able to accurately write and report experimental data. Individual must be willing to work with mice, take instruction and training in specific techniques, and order laboratory supplies. College degree with 1-2 years extensive coursework in the sciences, i.e., biochemistry, molecular biology and/or independent research experience (can be satisfied by a one year undergraduate independent study) is preferred. Experience with sterile technique and/or animal handling helpful. Position is a full-time, 12-month, grade 08 appointment.
