In an effort to assist content creators in working with mobile devices, we have posted a tentative port of the XHTML-MP & CSS Mobile tag documentation at this site. The documentation has been converted from an all-in-one-page HTML document (obtained at the Openwave site) into a one-page-per-tag-or-rule set of XHTML-MP documents. If your mobile browser pays attention to the media attribute in stylesheet links, then these pages should display properly.
Converging Server Standards
The new WAP standards eliminate the need for gateways, so Webmasters can serve handheld content from the servers they already run.
Converging Client Standards
The WAP standards also now use a subset of XHTML (XHTML-MP) and a subset of CSS (CSS Mobile), so content creators can build on their prior knowledge of XHTML & CSS for full-sized displays. Building on prior knowledge is always a help in aquiring new knowledge.
