Childhood and Adolescence (0514-440):
This course covers the study of development from conception through adolescence and covers topics like perception, cognitive development, friendships, morality, family influences and social development. The big issues in the study of child psychology emerge from a few core questions: How much is our behavior influenced by our genes, as compared to our life experiences? Why are individuals so different? How do thought and behavior change over decvelopment? This course is designed to provide an overview of the current research on psychological development from infancy through adolescence, with an emphasis on critical thinking and scientific methods.
