Senior Project (0514-596, 0514-597):

The capstone senior project for psychology majors is an independent research project designed by the student and completed over two quarters. All students must complete a literature review on their topic, apply for and receive IRB approval, create experimental stimuli, recruit participants, collect and analyze data, and write APA-style papers as the final project. Previous senior project topics include why deaf students’ lag behind their hearing peers in mathematics performance, deaf and hearing students’ attitudes toward cochlear implants, parental influences on senior college students’ career decisions, whether involvement influences college satisfaction, and the effects of birth order on personality. Students must meet and discuss their project with me before planning to do a senior project under my supervision.
