I hold a BS degree in mechanical engineering and PhD in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia , as well as a diploma from the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. I had a post-Doctoral appointment at UC Davis from 2003-2005. As of September, 2005, I am an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

My research and expertise deals with the application methods in experimental and computational fluid mechanics to a range of applied and biological flows. This includes collaborations with biologists, medical doctors, and industry partners.

My focus at RIT is on continuing this interest and work both in the classroom and with undergraduate and graduate student projects. I have successfully continued collaborations formed during graduate school his post-doctoral appointment and has contributed to new projects that involve the application of engineering methods to complex biological systems. This has led to successful funded research programs through government and industry partners that have supported many undergraduate and Master's level students.

My teaching focus at RIT is on supporting the recently launched Bioengineering option in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as supporting core courses in fluid mechanics. He is also interested in guiding senior design teams and providing research opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students through co-ops, research assistanceships, and advising Master's thesis projects.
