Responsibilities
The Dean of the College of Science reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and is the chief academic officer of the College of Science (COS). The main responsibilities of the Dean are:
• Shaping and driving the academic mission of the College of Science.
• Overseeing all the COS Academic Units.
• Overseeing all the undergraduate and graduate degree programs of the College.
• Overseeing all the research programs and research centers of the College.
• Hiring, supporting and maintaining strong faculty with superior teaching and scholarship achievements.
• Hiring, supporting and maintaining strong staff, research scientist, and postdoctoral fellows.
• All the Heads of the COS Academic Units report to the Dean of the College of Science.
• Overall supervision of the College of Science budgets.
• Increasing the diversity of the faculty and staff of the COS.
• Oversee and support the quality of faculty teaching and scholarship in support of student learning experiences.
• Oversee and support the College's facilities and quality of the academic programs.
