What is iMovie?

Preview

iMovie is a video editing software application which allows only apple products to edit their own software. iMovie was originally released in 1999 as an application, but has integrated into a Mac OS X only application in the iLife suite.

iMovie imports the video footage to the Mac using the FireWire interface on most MiniDV format digital video cameras, the USB port, or by importing the files from the hard drive. After the footage is transfered, the user can now edit the clips and add additional effects.
