The organizations that have already updated their sites for 2013, or offer opportunities on an annual basis are indicated by a (2013) after the co-op link.

This website lists opportunities from the larger Co-op/Internship and Summer Research Opportunities in the Life Sciences offered by organizations that MAY consider applications from undergraduates who are in their first year when applying or will have completed the first year by the time the co-op/internship starts (i.e, be considered second-year students at the start of the co-op/internship). However, some of these organizations simply do not provide any eligibility requirements or, if they do, do not mention anything about a year-level requirement. Other criteria in addition to year-level may also apply. So, you should check the eligibility criteria provided at the underlined co-op link for each organization to determine if you are, indeed, eligible (or contact the organization if the information on the co-op link is not clear). Also, be realistic, as you are likely in direct commpetition with 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students who may have more coursework, research experience, etc. than you do.
