Food & Nutrition:
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schoharie County helps connect our community to Cornell University research and initiatives on Food & Nutrition, Financial Literacy, Home Design & Safety, and Textiles & Apparels. Most of Cornell University’s faculty who work on family, nutrition, and consumer topics have appointments in the College of Human Ecology.
Eat Smart New York:
Eat Smart New York is a program to educate persons in receipt of food stamps. It is another important part of our nutrition education program, and is funded through a grant from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. If you wish to apply for food stamps, please contact the Schoharie County Department of Social Services.
Healthy Living Partnership:
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schoharie County is a member of a four-county coalition funded by the New York State Department of Health. The coalition is dedicated to reducing the incidence of diabetes in our communities.
Several agencies in Schoharie County, including Cornell Cooperative Extension, collaborate on projects to reduce the rates of breast cancer and cervical cancer. This effort is funded through a grant from the New York State Department of Health. Cornell University sponsors a program on Breast Cancer and Environmental Risk Factors.

The College of Human Ecology’s Department of Textiles and Apparel studies advanced fabrics, clothing function and fit, and the latest techniques to protect workers from pesticides and other dangerous chemicals.
